Kirby Muxloe Castle, also known as Kirby Castle, is an unfinished 15th century fortified manor house in Kirby Muxloe, Leicestershire. It was a brick-built fortified mansion, built for Lord Hastings. It sits in ruins now with a complete corner tower, and is being conserved by English Heritage. One of the few castles in England to have a wet moat of water moat...most soils are too porous...the moats are 60 ft (18 m) wide.
